BI Absorbs Rp24 Trillion from SRBI Auction, Yield Declines
Bank Indonesia (BI) won an auction of Bank Indonesia Rupiah Securities (SRBI) worth Rp24 trillion on Friday (28/8/2026).
The auction result was the highest this month, as the auction on 7 August 2026 only secured Rp7 trillion, and the one on 14 August secured Rp20 trillion.
“Bank Indonesia won bids amounting to Rp24 trillion out of a total of Rp43.5 trillion in incoming bids,” said Erwin Gunawan Hutapea, Head of the Monetary and Securities Asset Management Department at Bank Indonesia, today.
Along with today’s auction result, the weighted average yield of the 12-month SRBI tenor won fell to 7%, from 7.37% in the previous auction.
This decline is in line with the average yield offered by auction participants, which fell from 7.45% to 7.08%.
“This development is consistent with money market and banking liquidity conditions that Bank Indonesia continues to maintain through measured management of monetary instruments,” Erwin said.
Erwin stressed that going forward, Bank Indonesia will continue to optimise monetary instruments, including SRBI, to maintain adequate liquidity, support money market stability and the Rupiah exchange rate, and continue to attract foreign portfolio inflows.
