Bhayangkara 80th Anniversary: Polri Expected to Become More Professional and Beloved by the Public

A member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Nasyirul Falah Amru, commonly known as Gus Falah, has asserted that the 80th anniversary of Bhayangkara serves as an important moment reflecting the growing closeness between the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the public as a servant, protector, and guardian of the people. According to Gus Falah, the police force’s proximity to the community is the main asset in building public trust while strengthening synergy to maintain security and order amidst various evolving challenges. “The 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary is not merely an annual ceremony, but a momentum to strengthen Polri’s commitment to being increasingly present within the community. So far, Polri has been close to the people it serves and protects, and if this is reinforced, Polri will be better able to provide a sense of security, justice, and increasingly professional service,” Gus Falah stated on Tuesday. Gus Falah also appreciated various steps taken by Polri to improve the quality of public services, strengthen a humanistic approach, and build collaboration with all elements of society. He believes the transformation of the police institution must continue to be directed towards responsive, transparent, and public-oriented service. He also assessed that a police presence close to the people will strengthen the spirit of mutual cooperation in maintaining national security stability. He expressed hope that the police force would continue to uphold professionalism, integrity, and accountability in carrying out its duties and become more adaptive to evolving social dynamics. “Public trust is Polri’s greatest asset. Therefore, humanistic service, fair law enforcement, and open communication with the public must remain priorities,” he said.
