BGN's Response Regarding Electric Motorcycles Similar to Emmo Sold for Rp 10 Million on Alibaba
Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, has responded to information suggesting that the Emmo-brand electric motorcycles intended for nutrition service unit heads (SPPG) are merely rebranded versions of electric motorcycles available on the Alibaba website.
BGN purchased 21,801 units of electric motorcycles for the operational needs of the free nutritious meals (MBG) programme. The electric motorcycles bought by BGN are from the Emmo Electric Mobility Indonesia brand. There are two types of Emmo-brand motorcycles purchased by BGN: the Emmo-JVX GT and the Emmo-JV Max.
The Emmo-JVX GT is a trail motorcycle, while the Emmo-JV Max is a scooter model. For the trail motorcycle, Dadan stated that his agency purchased them at Rp 43.3 million per unit. The scooter-type motorcycles were bought at Rp 41.7 million per unit.
However, information circulating on social media suspects that the Emmo electric motorcycles are just rebranded versions of electric motorcycles sold on Alibaba under the Kollter ES1-X PRO brand. Tempo’s investigation on the Alibaba app revealed similarities in design between Emmo and the Kollter ES1-X PRO. On the Alibaba site, this motorcycle is sold by a company named Guangzhou Yangfa E-Commerce Co., Ltd., at a price of Rp 10.425 million per unit.
Dadan stated that the motorcycle being sold is different from the one purchased by BGN. He emphasised that the Emmo motorcycle is a brand sold in Indonesia. Meanwhile, sales in China, Europe, and America use the Tinbot brand.
“That is a fake account. The battery for the electric motorcycle alone costs Rp 7 million, not including the motor, controller, and other equipment,” said Dadan to Tempo on Monday, 13 April 2026.
Dadan also sent Tempo the Joule Motorcycles website, which displays the authentic Kollter ES1 PRO-L or under the Tinbot brand. That motorcycle is similar to the Emmo and Kollter sold on Alibaba. In the price section, it is listed at US$6,900 per unit, discounted to US$5,900.
Dadan also mentioned that the Tinbot brand has been exhibited at the Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori or EICMA, one of the motorcycle exhibitions in Milan, Italy. In fact, said Dadan, the Spanish police also use Tinbot electric motorcycles.
The procurement of BGN’s electric motorcycles went viral after a video showed a warehouse full of motorcycles with the BGN logo.
Dadan said that the 21,801 units of electric motorcycles purchased are still in the warehouse. “They are now in the distributor’s warehouse,” said Dadan when confirmed on Thursday night, 9 April 2026.
However, Dadan did not specify which area the distributor’s warehouse is located in.
An internal BGN source said that thousands of those electric motorcycles were once stored in a warehouse in the Tangerang area and were moved again to the Cakung district military headquarters in East Jakarta, before finally being placed in a warehouse in the Sentul area, Bogor, West Java.
Dadan stated that the procurement of electric motorcycles is only budgeted for 2025. BGN did not budget for the same item in 2026.
This IPB lecturer explained that the electric motorcycles will be used for SPPG in areas with difficult access. “We will distribute them later for the operations of all personnel in the SPPG, especially in difficult areas,” said Dadan.
