The government has ensured that the change in leadership at the National Nutrition Board (BGN) will not interfere with the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG). Minister of State Prasety<0xC2><0xA0>Hadi confirmed that the newly appointed officials of President Prabowo Subianto are able to carry out their duties and responsibilities directly, even though the official inauguration schedule is still pending further announcements.

Speaking at the Presidential Palace Complex on Tuesday evening, Prasetyo conveyed that the President has appointed Nanik S. Deyang as Head of BGN, replacing Dadan Hindayana. Additionally, Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono have been appointed as Deputy Heads of BGN, replacing Lodewijk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya.

According to Prasetyo, this changeover is the result of an evaluation conducted by the President regarding BGN’s performance over the past eighteen months. The evaluation was carried out to ensure that the implementation of the government’s priority programmes can run more effectively and provide greater benefits to the community.

“With the appointment of new officials, they are already able to carry out their functions and responsibilities as they should,” Prasetyo told a news conference at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta.

The government hopes that the new leadership will accelerate the implementation of the programme, improve organisational performance, and strengthen the governance of the BGN. This move is considered vital given that the BGN plays a central role in running the MBG programme, which is one of the priority initiatives of President Prabowo’s administration.

Prasetyo confirmed that the evaluation process and leadership changes will not affect the institution’s daily operations. All BGN work units will continue to perform tasks according to their respective functions, including the ongoing implementation of the MBG programme based on established standards.

He added that the leadership reshuffle is expected to provide momentum for strengthening the Free Nutritious Meal Programme. In addition to improving public nutrition, the programme is viewed as a long-term investment in the development of Indonesia’s human resources and a driver of economic activity across various regions.
