BGN: WFH Does Not Apply to MBG Management
Head of the National Nutrition Agency Dadan Hindayana stated that BGN is beginning to implement a work-from-home (WFH) system every Friday to save on fuel oil (BBM) usage. However, Dadan noted that WFH is excluded for managers of the nutritious free meal service units (SPPG) or free nutritious meal kitchens. He explained that SPPG heads, nutrition experts, and accountants will continue their duties as usual. “For SPPG heads, nutrition supervisors, and financial supervisors who carry out service tasks and functions, strategic operations, security, and other duties requiring physical presence, they will continue to perform their tasks at SPPG,” he said in a written statement on Friday, 10 April 2026. Meanwhile, Dadan said, other units directly related to public services, such as the Main Inspectorate, Deputy for Systems and Governance, Deputy for Provision and Distribution, and Deputy for Monitoring and Supervision, will implement a combined work scheme, namely work from office (WFO) and WFH. “The WFO and WFH mechanism will each be 50 percent, with implementation regulated on Mondays and Fridays,” he added. Dadan claimed that supervision of this policy’s implementation will be carried out in stages by high-ranking echelon I and II officials, as well as KPPG heads. Each of them must ensure that employee attendance and performance remain in accordance with regulations. He conveyed that this policy takes effect from 10 April 2026 until further notice, in line with periodic government evaluations. The WFH policy for civil servants was set by the government as an energy-saving measure amid rising global oil prices. Civil servants in central and regional agencies are scheduled to work from home every Friday to curb fuel consumption. This policy also responds to geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which impact global energy prices. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto previously announced the policy as part of mitigating external pressures.
