BGN urges stakeholders to align steps in implementing MBG programme
Manado (ANTARA) - The Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for Operational Fulfilment of Nutrition, Irjen Pol (Purn) Sony Sonjaya, hopes that all parties will align their steps in implementing the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme throughout all regions.
“This MBG programme consolidation meeting aims to align understanding and steps among all relevant parties, BGN partners who are facility owners/foundations, heads of nutrition fulfilment service units (SPPG), and the MBG Task Force at district/city levels, so that these three parties truly collaborate in implementing the MBG programme,” said Irjen Pol (Purn) Sony Sonjaya in Manado on Friday.
He hopes that no more prominent incidents will occur, like the one in North Sulawesi in January.
“Hopefully not anymore. This prominent incident was due to the failure to implement standard operating procedures (SOP) in the MBG production process,” he stated.
He mentioned that partial consolidation meetings have been held several times, but this is the first large-scale one involving all stakeholders.
“We hope the MBG programme continues to be supported. This programme is not oriented towards profit. Its orientation is towards efforts to improve nutritional intake, overall nutritional improvement, and economic enhancement across various layers,” he said.
Irjen Pol (Purn) Sony Sonjaya emphasised that his side will monitor SPPG heads who do not enter the existing system.
The Consolidation Meeting on the Implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Programme in North Sulawesi was also attended by BGN officials from the central and regional levels, Assistant for Development and Social Welfare Affairs of the North Sulawesi Provincial Secretariat Jimmy Ringkuangan, BGN partners, and other invitees.
