BGN Urges Every SPPG Foundation to Ensure Its Workers Receive BPJS Employment Insurance

JAKARTA - The Head of the Legal and Public Relations Bureau of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Khairul Hidayati (Hida), has urged every Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) foundation to ensure labour protection for its volunteers and workers.

“In accordance with BGN Head Decision No. 401.1 of 2025, every foundation is obliged to ensure BPJS Ketenagakerjaan coverage for employees and volunteers,” said Hida, quoted from an official statement on Wednesday (13/5/2026).

Hida explained that BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is a right for all SPPG workers without exception.

“All volunteers or employees at SPPG are entitled to work accident protection and health insurance,” she emphasised.

“The operational cost of Rp 3,000, currently paid on a cost-recovery basis, is partly used to cover BPJS Ketenagakerjaan contributions for volunteers,” she added.

According to Hida, with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, SPPG workers will receive various forms of protection, ranging from work accident insurance, death benefits, compensation, healthcare services, to educational scholarships for children.

Hida stressed that labour protection is not merely an administrative policy but also a strategy to maintain the quality of services in the MBG programme.

“When workers feel safe and protected, the quality of services will also improve, ultimately ensuring the sustainability of the programme,” she stated.
