Batam Police and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) are swiftly investigating a suspected fraud and embezzlement case involving the sale of Nutrition Service Unit (SPPG) locations, also known as MBG kitchens, in Batam.

Sony Sonjaya, BGN’s Operational Nutrition Fulfilment Deputy Chief, stated that police have secured several pieces of evidence, including documents allegedly linked to the fraud scheme.

“Investigators are closely coordinating with BGN to verify data and thoroughly resolve this case,” Sony said in a statement dated 24 May 2026.

He warned the public to be vigilant against individuals offering SPPG location sales with promises of profit, stressing that these points are not for sale and all applications must go through BGN’s official procedures.

BGN has urged victims of the scam to report to law enforcement immediately, emphasising the importance of prompt action to address similar cases under legal procedures and prevent further victims.

“Members of the public should not easily believe those offering SPPG location sales. It must be clear that SPPG points cannot be sold; all application processes follow BGN’s official mechanisms,” he added.

The case serves as a reminder for citizens to verify information through official government channels before engaging with any purported government programmes.
