BGN to Recruit Nutritionists and Paediatricians for Advisory Board

The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik S. Deyang, stated that the agency intends to recruit professors, nutritionists, and paediatricians to fill seats on the BGN Advisory Board.

“In the organisational structure, the National Nutrition Agency includes an Advisory Board. We will populate this board with professors of nutrition, as well as paediatric professors and paediatricians,” Nanik said during a press conference on Monday, 8 June 2026.

Nanik explained that out of the seven members of the Advisory Board, five are expected to be nutrition experts and paediatricians. The board is intended to guide the governance and nutritional fulfilment of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme to ensure it meets required standards.

Previously, it was reported that President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Nanik S. Deyang as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday, 8 June 2026. Nanik succeeds Dadan Hindayana in the position. Alongside Nanik, President Prabowo also inaugurated Agustina Arumsari and Trenggono as Deputy Heads of the BGN.

The inauguration was conducted based on Presidential Decree 18/M of 2026 regarding the dismissal and appointment of the Head and Deputy Heads of the BGN. The ceremony included the singing of Indonesia Raya, followed by the reading of the Presidential Decree and the administration of the oath of office led by President Prabowo.
