The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has threatened to temporarily halt the operations of nutrition fulfilment service units (SPPGs) that fail to increase the number of beneficiaries in the 3B category—pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers—within the next two weeks. Deputy Head of BGN Nanik Sudaryati Deyang emphasised that the agency will not hesitate to impose suspension sanctions on SPPGs deemed insufficiently serious about boosting 3B beneficiary numbers. “If the number of 3B beneficiaries at an SPPG remains low, the SPPG will be suspended,” Nanik stated in a written release on Tuesday, 12 May 2026. This policy forms part of the acceleration of stunting management via the free nutritious meal (MBG) programme. Nanik explained that all SPPGs are required to expand the coverage of 3B beneficiaries in their respective work areas. She noted that this step is essential to ensure all programme implementers remain focused on MBG’s primary objectives: improving public nutrition and reducing national stunting prevalence. Currently, the achievement of new beneficiaries stands at around 9 million people, while Ministry of Health data indicates the 3B target ranges from 22 million to 26 million. “From now until the next two weeks, all SPPGs must have 3B beneficiaries. Our current achievement is only about 9 million, while data from the Ministry of Health reaches 22 million to 26 million,” Nanik said. According to Nanik, BGN is now refocusing the programme to direct nutrition fulfilment services more precisely towards priority groups requiring rapid intervention. Therefore, all SPPGs are urged to actively conduct data collection and optimise services for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers.
