BGN Reveals Rp1.6 Trillion in Unpaid Debts, Here's the Breakdown

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has admitted to having outstanding debts to third parties amounting to Rp1.6 trillion, originating from various activities conducted in 2025. This was revealed by BGN Deputy Head Agustina Arumsari during a meeting with the House of Representatives’ Commission IX at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Friday, 17 July 2026. “There are several important notes because the financial report does not only consist of figures but also includes notes to the financial statements, which are qualitative explanations,” Agustina stated during the meeting. “The first is the 2025 arrears, totalling Rp1.6 trillion for activities that have been completed but not yet paid for,” she continued. Agustina explained that the arrears will be settled through a payment mechanism using the 2026 Budget Implementation List (DIPA). She added that the agency is currently revising its budget with the Directorate General of Budget at the Ministry of Finance. “We apologise to all third parties who may have invoices with the BGN that we have not been able to fully process or pay because the procedure is still ongoing,” she clarified. The breakdown of the BGN’s 2025 arrears is as follows: 1. Material expenditure: Rp16.12 billion (for uniforms, KLB, call centres, spoons, etc.) 2. Certification: Rp111.63 billion (SPPG certification expenditure) 3. Consultant services: Rp200 million 4. Rent: Rp121.95 million (for incidental vehicle rental) 5. Speaker honorariums: Rp812.97 million (for food handler technical guidance speakers) 6. Other services: Rp330.45 billion (for event organisers, publications, etc.) 7. Honorariums and transport: Rp7.40 billion (honorariums and goods delivery) 8. Official travel: Rp684.40 million (2025 travel arrears) 9. Government assistance (banper) for Free Nutritious Meals (MBG): Rp100.64 billion 10. Capital expenditure for assets: Rp1.04 trillion (construction of state-budget-funded kitchens)
