The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has confirmed that the evaluation process for the use of the 2025 budget is being carried out simultaneously with the reorganisation of around 27,000 Nutrition Service Fulfilment Units (SPPG). This step is being taken as part of improvements to the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Programme, including responding to various inputs from implementing partners. This was conveyed by BGN Deputy Head, Retired Major General Trenggono, after attending a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliamentary Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (17/7/2026). Trenggono explained that the RDP focused on discussing the accountability for the use of the BGN’s 2025 fiscal year budget. The detailed results of the discussion will be submitted to the DPR through a written response. ‘The RDP earlier was about the 2025 budget, so last year’s budget. Then the amount was also agreed upon, later it might be conveyed further because it will be answered in writing,’ said Trenggono. During the meeting, Commission IX also highlighted the aspirations and complaints of several BGN partners that had previously been conveyed to the DPR. According to Trenggono, the temporary suspension of some partners is part of the evaluation process and is not a permanent decision. ‘What is clear is that we are answering that this temporary suspension is not forever. So it is a temporary suspension, we are giving time to reorganise. A total of 27 thousand or so units will be checked again, we will reorganise them,’ he stated.
