BGN Reorganises 27,000 Nutrition Service Units While Evaluating 2025 Budget: 'Please Give Us Time'

JAKARTA — The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has confirmed that the evaluation of the 2025 budget is being carried out simultaneously with the restructuring of approximately 27,000 Nutrition Service Fulfilment Units (SPPG). The measure forms part of efforts to improve implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG), including responding to input from implementing partners.

This was stated by BGN Deputy Head Major General (Ret) Trenggono after attending a hearing (RDP) with Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (17/7/2026).

Trenggono explained that the hearing focused on the accountability of BGN’s budget usage for the 2025 fiscal year. The detailed outcome of the discussions will be conveyed to the DPR in written responses.

“The hearing was about the 2025 budget, so last year’s budget. The figures have now been agreed, and they may be conveyed further because they will be answered in writing,” said Trenggono.

During the meeting, Commission IX also highlighted the aspirations and complaints of a number of BGN partners previously submitted to the DPR. According to Trenggono, the temporary suspension of some partners is part of the evaluation process and not a permanent decision.

“What is clear is that we responded that this temporary suspension is not indefinite. It is a temporary suspension, and we are giving them time to reorganise. Some 27,000 or so of these will be rechecked and restructured,” he said.
