Natuna (ANTARA) - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has recorded that four Nutritional Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) in Natuna Regency, Kepulauan Riau, have temporarily ceased operations because they have not yet received the budget for procuring food supplies for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. The Head of the BGN Coordinator for the Natuna Region, Lutshia Widi Febiana, confirmed on Friday that the suspension began on Friday (12 June). The four SPPGs that are temporarily not operating are located in Batubi Jaya, Kelarik, Harapan Jaya, and Cemaga. She explained that the funds are used to purchase food ingredients which are then processed into nutritious meals for the beneficiaries of the MBG programme. A similar situation previously occurred at the Bunguran Timur Laut SPPG, which halted services on 8-9 June 2026 and resumed operations on Wednesday (10 June) after funds became available. Despite the four SPPGs ceasing operations, the MBG programme in Natuna continues to run through seven other SPPGs spread across various areas. These seven SPPGs are located in Batu Hitam, Pering, Ranai Darat, Bunguran Timur Laut, Serasan, Midai, and Subi. Lutshia stated that Natuna currently has 11 operational SPPGs out of a target of 28 SPPGs planned for the area. “These 11 SPPGs serve approximately 22,098 beneficiaries, consisting of students and other target groups under the MBG programme. However, four of the 11 have temporarily ceased operations,” she said.
