BGN Ready to Investigate Problematic MBG Kitchens, Public Urged to Report

Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sudaryono has stressed that his agency is ready to follow up on every report regarding alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Programme. He urged the public and the media not to hesitate to report if they find problematic MBG kitchens.

Sudaryono made the statement after chairing his first meeting with BGN officials at the BGN Office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (22/7/2026). He said the BGN is open to all input from the public as part of efforts to improve the governance of the MBG programme.

“And of course, I, especially together with the entire team, am ready to listen to input, ready to hear every piece of information, input from anywhere, from anyone, including from media colleagues,” Sudaryono said.

He then asked the public to report immediately if they find suspected irregularities in MBG kitchens. According to him, every report will be followed up through an investigation process.

“If, for example, a kitchen is not operating properly, report it immediately! We will investigate straight away. We want to uphold the rules, we will enforce what is right,” he stated.

Nevertheless, Sudaryono cautioned that mistakes made by a few parties should not lead to a poor assessment of all MBG implementers.

“Do not let one or two mistakes then lead to the assumption that the others are also wrong,” he said.

Sudaryono said that improving governance is the main focus of his leadership at the BGN. He therefore invited all stakeholders to participate in overseeing the implementation of the MBG programme.

“I want to encourage my team not to get caught up in sadness, and we are ready to solve problems. And I am ready to listen, once again, to input from all stakeholders, from our internal team, partners, to anyone, so that this governance can be implemented properly,” he said.

Sudaryono also asked the public to convey accurate information regarding the MBG. He hopes that any alleged violations that are publicised are based on facts, not misleading information.

“I understand that people can easily create sensationalism around the MBG theme. But I want the truth to be reported or posted. If there is a violation, then that violation must indeed be true. Do not let there be hoaxes, slander, or misinterpretation,” he concluded.
