BGN Provides 25,000 Electric Motorcycles for SPPG Heads, Not 70,000
JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has stated that information claiming there are 70,000 electric motorcycles for the heads of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) is a hoax. BGN Head Dadan Hindayana said that only 25,000 units of electric motorcycles were purchased, and currently, only 21,801 units are available. “The information about 70,000 units is not true. The total realisation of electric motorcycles is 21,801 units out of 25,000 units,” Dadan said in his official statement on Tuesday (7/4/2026). “The procurement of these motorcycles is indeed included in the 2025 budget. Their function is to support the operations of SPPG heads,” Dadan added. Furthermore, the Professor from Bogor Agricultural Institute said that at present, tens of thousands of these vehicles have not yet been distributed. Like other procurements, the tens of thousands of vehicles must go through administrative stages to be recorded as State Goods (BMN). “The motorcycles have not been distributed yet. Once everything is complete, they will first be recorded as BMN before distribution,” Dadan explained. The narrative in the video claimed that the number of motorcycles reached 70,000 units. The government records that the MBG programme has reached 61,680,043 beneficiaries as of 30 March. Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) stated that millions of MBG portions are distributed through 26,066 SPPG units across 38 provinces. He said the government will continue to refine President Prabowo Subianto’s flagship programme. “On the President’s orders, we have been asked to perfect it before the end of the year,” Zulhas said during a meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs office in Jakarta on Thursday (2/4/2026).
