BGN: Procurement of socks is part of SPPI equipment at Unhan
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, has clarified information regarding the procurement of several items such as socks, which has been widely discussed on social media as netizens deemed the budget too large. Dadan emphasised that BGN does not carry out the procurement directly because the socks are part of the equipment provided during the Bachelor of Indonesian Development Driver (SPPI) education. “For the socks, that is not procurement by BGN. It is provided during the SPPI education as part of the participants’ equipment organised by the National Defence University (Unhan),” he said in Jakarta on Monday. He also explained that the implementation of the SPPI education is carried out at Unhan using BGN’s budget managed through a self-managed type 2 mechanism. In this scheme, the implementation of activities, including the procurement of equipment, is carried out by Unhan. Every use of state budget in the BGN environment, Dadan said, has gone through planning, budgeting, to supervision mechanisms in accordance with applicable provisions and legislation. He also reminded that the dissemination of inaccurate and irresponsible information can cause misunderstandings and anxiety in society, ultimately potentially damaging public trust in BGN government programmes. “Therefore, we urge the public not to be easily provoked and to trust unverified information and refer to official sources,” he said. BGN, Dadan continued, is committed to maintaining the principles of efficiency, transparency, and accountability in every budget management, and is open to supervision both internally and externally from BGN.
