BGN: President Instructs Cross-Sector Collaboration to Ensure Success of Free Nutritious Meals Programme

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Agustina Arumsari said President Prabowo Subianto has instructed the importance of cross-sector collaboration to ensure the success of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme.

“The President directed that all relevant ministries and agencies support and assist BGN in ensuring the success of the MBG programme, because this synergy is an important step towards strengthening the programme’s implementation on the ground,” she said in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

President Prabowo issued the directive during a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday (15 July), as part of efforts to strengthen the implementation of the national nutrition quality improvement programme.

She also said that President Prabowo emphasised the importance of cross-sector collaboration so that the implementation of the MBG programme becomes more optimal and able to deliver widespread benefits to the public.

The directive affirms that the success of the MBG programme is a shared responsibility.

Cross-sector collaboration will focus on strengthening governance, improving implementation coordination and oversight, as well as resolving various challenges in the field.

With the support of all stakeholders, the MBG programme is expected to become higher in quality and deliver optimal benefits to the public.

BGN welcomed the President’s directive and is committed to continuing to build synergy with all ministries and agencies in realising an effective, well-targeted and sustainable MBG programme, as part of efforts to improve the quality of Indonesia’s human resources towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.
