Padang (ANTARA) - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is preparing regulations regarding clusters or groupings of Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) to determine incentive amounts, while also aiming to improve the quality of free nutritious meals (MBG) across the country. “We are currently formulating and classifying or grading so that SPPG can produce high-quality MBG,” said BGN Head Dadan Hindayana in Padang, West Sumatra, on Wednesday. Dadan explained that the regulation will group SPPG into quality levels A, B, and C. This will also relate to the incentive amounts received by each SPPG. Currently, every SPPG receives an incentive of Rp6 million per day. However, once the regulation being prepared by BGN is completed, the incentive amounts will vary. “So, superior quality SPPG with an A rating may receive the highest incentives,” he stated. In addition, BGN does not rule out the possibility that some SPPG will need to strive for accreditation to receive incentives from BGN. This policy is expected to be a positive step for the government to continue providing quality MBG services to beneficiaries. On that occasion, Dadan also mentioned that BGN has temporarily halted operations of more than 1,700 SPPG because they did not meet several established criteria. The thousands of suspended SPPG are related to issues from wastewater treatment installations (IPAL) to problems with hygiene and sanitation certificates. Dadan emphasised that although some SPPG have been temporarily suspended due to various factors, at the same time, more than 25,000 SPPG are already serving millions of beneficiaries of President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programme.
