JAKARTA — The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has instructed all partners of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) to upload the menu for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme on social media. Sonny Sonjaya, Deputy Head of BGN for Nutrition Fulfillment Operations, said the posting of the menus forms part of transparency. Not only the meal menus, but the nutritional content and prices of MBG meals must also be uploaded. ‘BGN has ordered all SPPGs to establish social media as a channel of communication between SPPGs and the public, and to publish the meal menus, their nutritional content, and prices,’ Sonny said, citing Antara, on Sunday 8 March 2026. Recipients of MBG include pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, infants, and pupils across various education levels. Sonny added that the public may also lodge complaints directly with the SPPG if they find MBG menus deemed unfit. ‘If it is not in accordance, the public can protest. It is one form of transparency and public accountability,’ he said. He added the public may also share the information on social media as long as it aims to improve services and is accompanied by a report to the relevant SPPG.
