BGN Office Searched by Attorney General's Office, Sahroni: The President is Not Playing Around!
Jakarta, VIVA – The Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Ahmad Sahroni, has expressed support for the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) regarding the search of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) office on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.
He stated that the action demonstrates the seriousness of the government and President Prabowo Subianto in combating alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. “What the Attorney General’s Office is doing now by searching the BGN office proves that the President is not playing around with those who intend to play around,” Sahroni said at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.
He urged the Attorney General’s Office to promptly announce the results of the investigation and name suspects if sufficient evidence of alleged corruption is found. “I request that the Attorney General’s Office, during their press conference, immediately name those committing corruption to clarify the issues they are facing,” he stated.
Sahroni believes that swift law enforcement will assist in improving the governance of the MBG programme. Conversely, if alleged irregularities are not addressed immediately, it could lead to larger problems and undermine public trust in the programme. “The faster those abusing power are dealt with, the better. If law enforcement does not respond, it becomes even more dangerous,” he emphasised.
Sahroni noted that various public complaints should serve as material for evaluation to ensure the programme’s implementation aligns with the government’s objectives. “The programme is good, but the distribution is imperfect. This is what causes many complaints in society. This must be rectified as soon as possible,” he added.
Previously, it was reported that the BGN office in Jakarta was searched by investigators from the Attorney General’s Office on Wednesday, 3 June 2026. The search has drawn significant attention as it occurred just one day after President Prabowo Subianto reshuffled the agency’s leadership. The news of the search was confirmed by the Acting Head of the Legal Information Centre of the Attorney General’s Office, Jefri, who stated that the investigative team from the Special Crimes Directorate (Dittipidsus) was indeed conducting legal action at the BGN office.
