BGN Nabire serves special beef rendang menu to enliven National Children's Day

Nabire (ANTARA) - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN), through its Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) in Nabire Regency, served a special beef rendang menu to students benefiting from the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme in celebration of National Children’s Day 2026.

Marsel Asyrem, BGN’s Regional Coordinator for Nabire, said on Friday that the beef rendang was served simultaneously by all SPPG units across the Nabire area as a form of care for children during the National Children’s Day commemoration.

“On this National Children’s Day, we want children to feel special. This beef rendang is a symbol of our attention so that the children of Nabire can grow up healthy, strong and happy,” he said.

Beef rendang was chosen as the special menu because of its nutritional content and because it is one of the dishes most favoured by children.

He also expressed appreciation for the hard work of the partners, SPPG heads and all staff who prepared and distributed the menu to the beneficiary students.

According to him, fulfilling children’s nutritional needs is an essential part of building a healthy and high-quality future generation for Central Papua.

Meanwhile, MBG beneficiaries in Nabire comprise 28,113 students as well as 3,889 members of the 3B group, consisting of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and toddlers.

In addition to serving the special menu through the MBG programme, BGN Nabire, together with a number of partners and SPPG heads, also visited children receiving treatment at Nabire Regional General Hospital.

During the visit, the delegation presented hampers and entertained the sick children as an expression of care in conjunction with National Children’s Day.

The activity is hoped to boost the spirits of children undergoing treatment while strengthening the shared commitment to supporting children’s growth, development and health.
