BGN: MBG Programme Halts During Eid al-Fitr, Saving Budget of Rp5 Trillion
For Eid al-Fitr, I must convey that for schoolchildren, the final distribution was on 13 March 2026. For pregnant women, nursing mothers, and toddlers, the final distribution is today. Following this, we will celebrate Eid al-Fitr, and the MBG Programme will resume operations on 31 March 2026, which equates to approximately Rp5 trillion in savings through this approach,” said Dadan, speaking after a meeting with Attorney General ST Burhanuddin in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Dadan also explained that between 18–24 March, MBG distributions will not be conducted for all beneficiary targets, whether students or non-students. Instead, distributions are being carried out earlier than usual.
As a preventive measure against corruption in the MBG budget, BGN is also partnering with the Attorney General’s Office by deploying the Attorney General’s Younger Intelligence Division (Jamintel).
This approach is not intended to report MBG partners, but rather to ensure that those managing the Nutritional Service Delivery Units (SPPG) can work optimally, remain vigilant, and operate transparently in utilising state funds allocated for the MBG Programme.
“I have also requested that the Attorney General’s Office assign personnel to serve as officials to strengthen BGN at the central level, at echelon two rank and currently only one person has been assigned. That was what I discussed with the Attorney General and the Intelligence Division,” he said.
