BGN Mandates All SPPG Units to Obtain SLHS Certification by August
The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has mandated that all Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) obtain Hygiene and Sanitation Certificates (SLHS) by next August. Acting Head of the Coordinating Team for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Programme, Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, stated that her team will accelerate the certification process for hygiene standards. “My target is for all SPPG to register by June and to have SLHS by August,” Nanik said in an official statement on Friday (17/4/2026). Nanik noted that the number of SPPG holding SLHS continues to increase. As of the end of September 2025, only 39 SPPG had obtained SLHS. Meanwhile, the number of SPPG that have applied for SLHS to local Health Offices has reached 16,681 units or 81.39 percent. Nanik emphasised that her team will continue to urge the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) and the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) to participate in accelerating the certification of MBG kitchens. “They must still adhere to the mandatory requirements for SPPG,” Nanik said. Nanik stated that she will instruct the Deputy for Monitoring and Supervision at BGN to temporarily suspend SPPG that have not processed SLHS. This action demonstrates the government’s commitment to maintaining the quality and safety of food served to millions of beneficiaries. “For SPPG that have not registered for SLHS, we will instruct temporary suspension or cessation of operations,” Nanik said. Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) stated that the MBG programme is distributed through 26,066 SPPG units in 38 provinces. The government stated that it will continue to refine the implementation of the MBG programme in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives. “On the President’s orders, we are asked to have it perfected before the end of the year,” Zulhas said during a meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs office in Jakarta on Thursday (2/4/2026).
