Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for Public Communication and Investigation, Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, has urged all Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) to increase the number of beneficiaries in the pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers (3B) category within their respective work areas over the next two weeks. She emphasised that this step is part of the government’s efforts to accelerate improvements in children’s nutrition in Indonesia while reducing national stunting rates through the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. “From now until two weeks ahead, all SPPG must have 3B beneficiaries. Currently, our achievement is around 9 million, while data from the Ministry of Health reaches 22 million to 26 million,” Nanik said in Jakarta on Monday. Nanik assessed that this situation requires BGN to refocus the programme so that nutrition fulfilment services are more targeted towards priority groups needing immediate intervention. Nanik stressed that SPPG unable to meet the 3B beneficiary targets in their areas will face temporary operational suspension or suspension. This policy is taken to ensure that all programme implementers remain focused on the main goal, namely improving public nutrition and reducing stunting prevalence in Indonesia. “If the number of 3B beneficiaries in SPPG is still low, the SPPG will be suspended or suspended,” stated Nanik Sudaryati Deyang.
