The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is developing an application to monitor the quality of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme for beneficiaries. The app, named ‘Reviu Menu MBG’ (Organoleptic), has been developed to strengthen food quality oversight.

Deputy Head of BGN Sony Sonjaya stated the app was developed to prevent poisoning cases during MBG implementation. Through the app, beneficiaries can monitor the programme’s execution, particularly regarding menu quality.

“This app was developed to involve beneficiaries in monitoring MBG quality. Consequently, SPPG and all partners will be more diligent in maintaining the quality of distributed food,” he said in a statement on Sunday, 24 May 2026.

He explained that the app is intended for the responsible parties of beneficiary groups, namely school-appointed teachers and posyandu heads. Upon receiving MBG packages, they can immediately assess food quality using parameters set in the system.

The app’s assessment indicators include delivery timeliness, food aroma, taste, and menu variety. This system enables rapid and measurable quality evaluations of MBG.

According to Sony, as of 21:31 WIB on Saturday, 23 May 2026, the Reviu Menu MBG Dashboard recorded 1,707 reports from various regions. Of these, 1,705 reports (99.88%) stated the food was fit for consumption, while two reports indicated it was not.

Further data showed that 97.95% of deliveries (1,672 reports) arrived on time or early, with only 35 reports noting delays.

In sensory quality aspects, 1,702 reports (99.71%) rated the food aroma as acceptable. For food presentation, 1,697 reports (99.41%) deemed it met standards. Regarding taste, 1,688 reports (98.89%) found the flavour acceptable to beneficiaries.

Sony believes involving teachers and posyandu in evaluations will enhance monitoring accuracy. This step also serves as an early detection system for potential issues in distribution or food quality.

“Through this system, BGN aims to maintain MBG programme quality and boost public trust in the national nutrition initiative,” he said.
