JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) states that it has regulated the distribution of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) based on the type of food served. Deputy Head of BGN for Public Communication and Investigation, Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, said that MBG is distributed under a five-day scheme. MBG for school pupils is provided in the form of fresh food because its quality can still be maintained. Meanwhile, food ingredients that are risky for pregnant mothers and breastfeeding mothers are distributed up to Saturday with handling in accordance with applicable regulations. According to Nanik, the government applies a different approach in distributing MBG to beneficiaries in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas. In those remote areas, the MBG menu distributed consists of dry foods that are not difficult to process. Through this policy, it is hoped that all beneficiaries can still receive nutritional supplies even in hard-to-reach areas. “For 3T regions, dry food is provided, not processed food. Examples include milk, fruit, bread, and other food ingredients that are easier to store and distribute,” said Nanik. As is known, MBG services in 3T areas have recently come under scrutiny. Representing his fellow regional heads in 3T areas, he admitted to being tired of facing poverty. “So thank you everyone. Mr Minister, Mr Governor, and all Ladies and Gentlemen, we are tired of being poor. We are tired of poverty,” said Amizaro at the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration office, Jakarta, Wednesday (25/2/2026).
