BGN Head: Rp60 Trillion Budget Has Been Disbursed to Every SPPG Account
The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, stated that his agency has so far disbursed Rp60 trillion from the central government’s Rp268 trillion budget for implementing the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG).
“Alhamdulillah, up to today from the Rp268 trillion MBG budget, we have transferred Rp60 trillion through the SPPG virtual account,” said BGN Head Dadan Hindayana in Padang City, West Sumatra, on Wednesday.
Dadan explained that from January to April 2026, the BGN has successfully stimulated the economy by Rp60 trillion in various regions. The success of this programme has notably impacted Jember Regency in East Java Province.
In general, he noted that the needs for basic commodities at each SPPG are considerable. For example, at least five tonnes of rice or 10 tonnes of dry paddy are required monthly to meet the needs of the beneficiaries.
Additionally, Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) require fruits, vegetables, fish, chicken eggs, milk, and other items. “Thus, the MBG empowers the community,” said Dadan Hindayana.
By focusing on and fulfilling the nutrition of children and pregnant women, he believes stunting can be prevented. This is because nutritional fulfilment greatly depends on intake during the first 1,000 Days of Life (HPK) for children.
“By preventing stunting from an early stage, we hope that in the future a healthy and intelligent generation will emerge,” stated BGN Head Dadan Hindayana.
