The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, stated that the price of one electric motorcycle purchased for the Head of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) is Rp42 million. Dadan emphasised that this price is far below the current market rate of Rp52 million. “The market price is Rp52 million, but we bought it—if I’m not mistaken—for Rp42 million, below the market price,” said Dadan to reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday, 8 April 2026. Dadan explained the urgency of purchasing electric motorcycles for the operational needs of SPPG Heads to reach hard-to-access areas. For instance, he said, villages and regions that can only be traversed by motorcycle. “This programme reaches areas that will be very difficult to access. Reaching villages and areas that can only be done by motorcycle. It’s to support operations,” he stated. Previously, a video went viral on social media showing several motorcycles with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) logo, sparking various speculations among the public. In response, BGN Head Dadan Hindayana explained that the procurement of these motorcycles is part of the 2025 budget planning and is intended to support the operations of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG), particularly for the Heads of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG). “The procurement of these motorcycles is indeed included in the 2025 budget. Their function is to support the operations of SPPG Heads,” said Dadan in his official statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, 7 April 2026. Nevertheless, Dadan assured that the motorcycles have not yet been distributed to the relevant parties. According to him, the vehicles that are available still need to go through administrative processes as State Goods (BMN) before they can be used. “The motorcycles have not been distributed. Once everything is complete, they will first be recorded as BMN before distribution,” he clarified. Furthermore, the realisation of the motorcycle procurement process began gradually in December 2025. Meanwhile, regarding the information circulating on social media about the procurement reaching 70,000 units, Dadan emphasised that this news is untrue or a hoax. “The information about 70,000 units is not true. The total realisation of electric motorcycles is 21,801 units out of 25,000 ordered in 2025,” explained Dadan.
