BGN Head Meets Attorney General to Discuss Oversight of Free Nutritious Meal Programme Governance

Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sudaryono, met with Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin at the Main Building of the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) on Tuesday (11/8).

In the meeting, Sudaryono, accompanied by BGN officials, discussed cooperation in the civil and state administrative law fields.

Deputy for Monitoring and Oversight at BGN, Ketut Sumedana, said the cooperation would also be carried out through legal assistance and field oversight related to the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme.

“He (the Head of BGN) requested that in the future there will be assistance. Legal assistance, legal audits, including field oversight involving colleagues at the District Prosecutor’s Offices and High Prosecutor’s Offices,” he told reporters after the meeting.

Ketut said BGN is currently continuing to improve and evaluate the MBG programme to make it better and more beneficial for the public.

In addition, he emphasised that the BGN leadership continues to support criminal proceedings in MBG governance. He also encouraged all examinations to be conducted openly, including those involving individuals at BGN.

“Anything related to special criminal investigations is welcome, open. Because that is indeed the personal domain of the individuals who were previously at BGN,” he explained.

Separately, Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, said the visit was a courtesy and coordination agenda following the formation of the new BGN leadership.

According to Anang, the Attorney General’s Office and BGN will establish cooperation in the future, including involving a number of personnel if necessary.

“That in the future they will establish cooperation involving several personnel if necessary in the context of improving the governance of the Free Nutritious Meals programme,” he said.

Anang added that the meeting also discussed several evaluation aspects, especially those related to governance. He affirmed that the Prosecutor’s Office is ready to assist in providing assistance and oversight of the MBG programme’s governance.

“So that it does not happen again, especially in governance. And the Prosecutor’s Office is ready to help assist in the future,” he concluded.
