BGN halts operations of two SPPGs in Pamekasan
Pamekasan (ANTARA) - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has halted the operations of two Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPGs) in Pamekasan, East Java, due to their failure to meet the operational standards set by the government.
The Regional Coordinator of BGN in Pamekasan, Hariyanto Rahmansyah Tri Arif, stated in Pamekasan on Wednesday that the two SPPGs whose operations were suspended are those of Yayasan As-Salman and Kemala Bhayangkari.
“The suspension of these two SPPGs is based on the findings from a spot check conducted by the Deputy for Monitoring and Supervision of the Central BGN,” he said.
He explained that some time ago, BGN and the MBG Task Force in Pamekasan carried out a joint spot check, visiting several SPPGs in Pamekasan.
From that activity, it was found that the facilities and infrastructure of the two SPPGs did not comply with the established regulations.
“Based on those findings, BGN then proceeded with the closure or temporary suspension of operations for both SPPGs,” he said.
“BGN has requested that both SPPGs make improvements in accordance with the regulations, and if they are complete, they may potentially resume operations,” he added.
Previously, the MBG Task Force of Pamekasan Regency reported that 45 out of a total of 117 SPPGs in the area were problematic.
“This is in line with the results of the joint monitoring we conducted with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) over the past week,” said the Head of the MBG Task Force in Pamekasan, Sukriyanto.
He explained that the issues with the 45 SPPGs included, among others, dirty cooking areas or kitchens that did not yet meet the standards set by BGN, as well as careless patterns in menu presentation.
The institution has also issued direct warnings to the managers to promptly comply with the regulations.
