The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has temporarily halted the operations of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) in Ketara Village, Pujut Subdistrict, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). This action was taken after BGN received information that the free nutritious meal (MBG) menu distributed by the SPPG contained maggots.

The Head of BGN Regional Office for NTB, Eko Prasetyo, stated that the suspension letter was issued as of 10 March 2026. He mentioned that the policy was based on the results of verification and field investigation.

“Yes (operations have been stopped). So, every incident reported by the public, we immediately suspend. (But) it’s the leadership that decides,” said Eko via telephone to detikBali on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

It is known that the MBG kitchen belongs to an Indonesian Development Driver Scholar (SPPI) named Alman Putra. Alman had previously reported two Central Lombok residents who uploaded videos of the MBG menu containing maggots on social media. The report filed with the Central Lombok Police Resort concerns alleged defamation.

According to Eko, his office, as BGN’s representative in the region, only has the capacity to forward public reports regarding the MBG programme. He emphasised that closing the MBG kitchen is under the authority of BGN leadership.

Based on the team’s findings in the field, he said, the bread in the MBG menu distributed by the SPPG in Ketara Village did indeed contain maggots. Eko noted that this was widely videoed by residents and went viral on social media.

“Yes, at that time there were maggots, there’s video of it too,” Eko added.

Eko claimed that BGN is committed to absorbing input from the public regarding the implementation of the MBG programme. He invited residents to jointly monitor President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programme.

Regarding the reporting of the two Central Lombok residents by the Head of SPPG in Ketara Village, Alman Putra, Eko was reluctant to comment much. He said he was still studying the case.

“That’s for the public relations bureau to answer. That’s not our authority, just wait,” he concluded.

Previously, two residents of Ketara Village, Pujut Subdistrict, Central Lombok, were reported to the police after uploading videos of the suspected maggot-containing MBG menu. The two are Nana alias Baiq Restu Tunggal Kencana and Jamiatul Munawarah.

Jamiatul admitted to being shocked after receiving a summons letter from the Specific Criminal Unit (Tipidter) of the Central Lombok Police Resort Criminal Investigation Unit. According to Jamiatul, she never mentioned or named anyone in the post.
