Manado (ANTARA) - The Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for the Operational Division of Nutrition Fulfilment, Retired Inspector General of Police Sony Sonjaya, stated that government funds channelled to all Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) average Rp1 trillion per day. “If I were to liken it, it’s like raindrops flowing from the sky directly to the cells below, straight to the ground from Aceh to Papua, from village level to metropolitan areas,” said Retired Inspector General of Police Sony Sonjaya at the Consolidation Meeting on the Implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme in Manado on Friday. He explained that Rp122 billion of this is absorbed by 1.2 million volunteers working in SPPG. “In North Sulawesi itself, it’s over Rp6.477 million per day, of which Rp841.3 million is absorbed by our brothers and sisters numbering 8,413 people,” he said. Furthermore, Rp3.8 billion per day in government funds flows to all SPPG from Bolaang Mongondow Regency, Minahasa Regency to Kotamobagu City. “The number is 179 SPPG,” he added. Retired Inspector General of Police Sony Sonjaya said, “Where does the flow of government funds go?” The funds flow to rice sellers, fish sellers, vegetable sellers, fruit sellers, chicken egg sellers, chicken meat sellers. “So it truly flows,” he added.
