BGN: Government channels Rp3.9 billion daily for MBG in Babel
Pangkalpinang - Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sony Sanjaya, stated that the government channels Rp3.9 billion daily for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme in Bangka Belitung Islands Province, ensuring the programme runs smoothly in the area. “Praise be to God, the MBG programme in Bangka Belitung Islands has been running well, thanks to the daily government funding of Rp3.9 billion,” said Sony Sanjaya during the MBG Programme Consolidation Meeting in Pangkalpinang on Friday. “Praise be to God, Bangka Belitung Islands Province already has 106 SPPG, all built by partners, namely the people of Bangka Belitung,” he added. He expressed gratitude that the MBG programme in Bangka Belitung Islands has been successfully implemented, in line with the government’s goal of improving nutrition for beneficiaries, namely vulnerable groups, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, toddlers, and school participants. In addition, other objectives of the MBG programme in Bangka Belitung Islands have also been achieved, namely boosting the local economy. “I remind you that the MBG programme can run well due to community support and the government’s daily funding of Rp3.9 billion, which is channelled to 106 SPPG and the community in this area,” he said. According to him, this government funding circulates the economy in Bangka Belitung Islands effectively. “The funds disbursed by the government flow to rice traders, vegetables, eggs, chicken meat, and fruit traders. These funds are what drive the economic wheel in the area, thereby strengthening Indonesia’s economy,” he stated.
