BGN: Free Nutritious Meals Programme for Young Children and Pregnant Women Continue During Lebaran Holiday
The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has ensured that the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG) for vulnerable groups comprising young children, pregnant women, and nursing mothers (3B) will continue throughout the Lebaran holiday period in 2026.
“The MBG programme for pregnant women, young children, and nursing mothers will continue despite schools being on holiday,” said Sonny Sonjaja, Deputy Head of BGN for Nutrition Fulfilment Operations, in a statement received in Bandung, West Java, on Monday.
Sonjaja explained that the distribution of MBG to schoolchildren will not take place from 18 to 24 March 2026. However, after the Lebaran holiday ends, the programme will resume normal operations.
Regarding potential public complaints about the MBG programme’s implementation, BGN has invited citizens to submit feedback directly to the managers of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG).
Sonjaja has also instructed SPPG partners to upload MBG meal menus on social media as part of transparency efforts towards the public.
“BGN has instructed all SPPG units to create social media accounts as a communication platform between SPPG and the community, and they are required to post meal menus, nutritional content, and prices,” Sonjaja stated.
According to him, this measure aims to ensure the public can openly verify the quality and composition of food provided to programme beneficiaries.
“If the intention is to improve the programme, then please visit the relevant SPPG and request improvements. However, if the intention is to make it go viral, that depends on individual intentions. We cannot prevent that,” he added.
