BGN Fires Head of Nutrition Service Provision Unit in Lampung Over Allegations of Child Sexual Abuse
JAKARTA — The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has fired the Head of the Nutrition Service Provision Unit (SPPG) in Tanjung Kesuma, East Lampung Regency, who is suspected of involvement in a case of child sexual abuse.
“As soon as we received the report and confirmed that the perpetrator had been secured by police, BGN immediately decided to terminate the employee from his post as Head of SPPG,” said BGN Deputy Head Nanik S. Deyang in a press briefing on Friday (6 March 2026).
BGN emphasised that it does not tolerate any form of violence or crime against children, especially by its staff.
“We do not tolerate actions that violate the law and injure human values,” Nanik said.
BGN pledged to fully support the legal process by the authorities so that the case could be processed transparently and in accordance with applicable regulations.
“We hope the case will be processed comprehensively to deliver justice for the victim and to serve as a serious lesson for all parties,” she added.
Furthermore, Nanik said that BGN would conduct an internal evaluation of the recruitment and HR oversight mechanisms involved in operations of the SPPG in various regions.
She also confirmed that MBG programme services in East Lampung would continue to operate normally following the appointment of a replacement to the Head of SPPG.
Purbolinggo Police Chief AKP Irwan Susanto said the perpetrator, identified as DD (29), had been detained at the local police station.
“Yes, he admitted to working as the Head of SPPG. The perpetrator has been detained after being arrested last Tuesday,” Irwan said when contacted on Thursday (5 March 2026).
Irwan said the victim was taken to a field area by the perpetrator and then sexually assaulted.
The victim was found by residents in a state of severe trauma.
