BGN Ensures Transparent and Accountable Budget Management for MBG Programme
Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency’s (BGN) Public Communication and Investigation Division, Nanik S. Deyang, assured that BGN fully supports the government’s efforts to strengthen the effectiveness of national budget usage through more efficient and targeted spending.
“BGN respects and follows government directives, particularly from the Ministry of Finance led by Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, regarding national budget efficiency measures. These adjustments are focused on operational spending to ensure more effective budget usage and maximum impact,” Nanik said in Jakarta on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.
Nanik explained that the synergy and coordination between the Ministry of Finance and BGN are strong in ensuring the sustainability of the MBG programme, one of President Prabowo Subianto’s national strategic programmes.
“The synergy between the Ministry of Finance and BGN demonstrates the government’s joint commitment to maintaining the quality of the MBG programme while ensuring transparent, accountable, and sustainable budget management,” he said.
In the 2026 State Budget (APBN), BGN’s official budget allocation is Rp268 trillion. This funding is focused on supporting MBG programme operations through Nutrition Service Units (SPPG) across Indonesia.
As of 24 May 2026, the MBG programme has reached approximately 62.4 million beneficiaries through 29,225 SPPGs across various regions in Indonesia. The government ensures the programme remains optimal despite efficiency adjustments in certain operational areas.
According to Nanik, budget efficiency is an opportunity to strengthen programme implementation quality, ensuring it is more targeted and effective for those in need.
“Our core principle is ensuring optimal service for beneficiaries. Efficiency does not mean reducing the government’s commitment to the MBG programme, but strengthening its implementation effectiveness to broaden and sustain its benefits,” Nanik added.
