BGN ensures Ramadan assistance reaches the target, including for santri
Hida emphasised that the presence of BGN in pesantren environments and religious educational institutions is a key part of the strategy to ensure nutrition services reach all segments of society fairly and equitably.
“Pesantren play a strategic role in shaping a generation that is spiritually strong as well as physically healthy. Therefore, we want MBG Programme to truly be felt by the santri,” Hida said in an official statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He also praised the Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) Semarang Tengaran Klero, which is regarded not only for carrying out nutrition fulfilment functions but also for delivering social impact to the surrounding community. During Ramadan, MBG was distributed as an iftar meal for santri and residents, thereby broadening the programme’s benefits.
He added that proper nutrition is a fundamental foundation in building a superior and competitive human resource. The synergy between the central government, regional governments, and educational institutions is the key to the programme’s on-the-ground success.
‘The MBG programme is not merely about providing food, but a long-term national investment in preparing a healthy and intelligent generation. We hope the support of all foundation stakeholders will ensure its implementation is orderly, transparent, and accountable,’ Hida concluded.
