The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Bali has assured that the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme will continue to be provided for six days a week. This confirmation follows policy adjustments from BGN Head Dadan Hindayanan, concerning the impact of the global energy crisis resulting from the conflict between Iran, the US, and Israel. BGN Bali Coordinator Risca Christina emphasised that there will be no reduction in the days of MBG provision. According to her, the programme’s implementation is adjusted to the teaching and learning activities (KBM) in each school. “There is no reduction in days. The Head of SPPG coordinates with the school regarding KBM in that school. If KBM runs until Saturday, MBG will still be provided,” Risca said when contacted on Monday (6/4/2026). She explained that this policy also aims to ensure that students continue to receive ready-to-eat meals. Thus, the scheme avoids providing dry menus as previously feared. “This is to avoid providing dry food, so that students still get ready-to-eat menus,” she added. Besides for students, the six-day-a-week MBG provision scheme also remains applicable for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers. Risca assured that there are no changes in the programme’s implementation for these groups. “The MBG provision scheme for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers is unaffected. Provision remains 6 days,” Risca stressed.
