Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is committed to continuously enhancing the quality of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG) implementation through the tightening of standard operating procedures (SOPs) at all Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG). This measure follows up on President Prabowo Subianto’s directives that this national priority programme should not only have broad reach but also meet the established quality standards. “The President emphasised that all SPPGs that do not meet the standards must have their operations temporarily halted until comprehensive improvements are carried out. This is crucial to ensure that the quality of MBG services remains maintained and provides optimal benefits to the community,” said Dadan. He explained that there are several factors forming the basis for the temporary suspension of SPPGs, including the lack of Hygiene Sanitation Certification (SLHS), absence of Wastewater Treatment Installation (IPAL), non-compliance of meal portions with nutritional standards, as well as various other technical aspects that still need to be addressed. In addition, BGN has highlighted the presentation of menus during the month of Ramadan, which was deemed too minimalistic, thus creating negative perceptions in society. Evaluation of this issue is an important part of the comprehensive improvement efforts for service quality. BGN asserts that the implementation of the MBG Programme must prioritise the principle of serving fresh food with portions appropriate to nutritional standards and the needs of the beneficiaries. Therefore, the evaluation and coaching process is continuously carried out so that all currently suspended SPPGs can soon resume operations with better, safer service quality in accordance with regulations. Through this tightening of standards, BGN hopes that the implementation of the MBG Programme can become increasingly optimal in supporting improvements in the community’s nutritional status and strengthening public trust in this national priority programme.
