BGN Enforces Zero Tolerance on Food Poisoning in Free Nutritious Meal Programme

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has stated that zero tolerance for food poisoning cases requires collaboration from all parties through strengthened services and robust supervision. BGN Head Sudaryono said that the aspect of food safety is a non-negotiable principle in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme, as the effort to fulfil the community’s nutritional needs must go hand in hand with ensuring the safety of the food consumed by beneficiaries. “BGN continues to improve services, supervision, monitoring, and collaboration from all parties so that this programme runs well, with zero tolerance for poisoning cases,” said the man familiarly known as Mas Dar in an official statement confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday. He emphasised that BGN is continuously strengthening oversight of the MBG implementation as part of efforts to prevent food safety risks, which requires the involvement of all elements, from programme organisers to schools, teachers, students, and other related parties. “Insyaa Allah, we at BGN will continue to improve services, supervision, monitoring, and collaboration from all parties so that this programme runs well,” he said. According to Mas Dar, maintaining food safety must be a collective effort. Compliance with food consumption regulations, including ensuring that food is consumed within the designated time limit, is one important step in preventing unwanted risks. BGN also reminded students not to take MBG meals home to be consumed there. This measure is taken because the condition and quality of the food once it is outside the organiser’s supervision cannot be guaranteed, potentially posing a food safety risk.
