The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) states that the distribution of motorcycles for Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) will be adjusted to the needs of each region, prioritising remote areas. “The distribution of motorcycles will be adjusted to needs. Data on existing units will be reviewed. The procurement of motorcycles is planned for all regions, especially remote areas, including Jakarta for schools in narrow alleys,” said Deputy Head of BGN for Nutrition Fulfilment Operations, Sony Sonjaya, in Jakarta on Thursday, 16 April 2026. He explained that the motorcycle procurement is budgeted from 2025 to optimise the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG), particularly in remote areas inaccessible by four-wheeled vehicles. “The procurement process is carried out in accordance with regulations. If there are deviations, that falls under the purview of law enforcement authorities. Information about the procurement of eating utensils worth Rp4.7 trillion is also not entirely accurate,” he said. Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated it is paying attention to BGN’s procurement of 25,644 electric motorcycle units. “Of course, the KPK is paying attention to that,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters in Jakarta on Tuesday, 15 April 2026. Budi explained that the KPK is focusing on this because procurement of goods and services is one of the areas prone to corruption. “Regarding that procurement, the KPK is certainly highlighting it because procurement of goods and services is indeed one of the areas vulnerable to corruption offences,” he said. BGN Head Dadan Hindayana explained that the budgeting for electric motorcycles for SPPG is included in the Year-End Budget Retention Account (RPATA), which complies with the Finance Minister Regulation (PMK). Dadan conveyed this in response to a viral social media video of motorcycles with BGN logos. This clarification also reaffirms the commitment to transparency and accountability in implementing the MBG Programme. “At the end of 2025, the Committing Officer (PPK) submitted a Payment Order Letter (SPM), so the budget entered the RPATA. This mechanism complies with PMK No. 84 of 2025, where payments are made in two stages: term 1 upon completion of 60 percent of units, and term 2 for completion up to 100 percent of units,” he stated.
