Kendari (ANTARA) - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Regional Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) has distributed 4,618 portions of free nutritious meals (MBG) to residents affected by the flood disaster that has struck several areas in the Land of the Anoa since Saturday (9/5).

Coordinator of BGN regional Sultra, Maharanny Puspaningrum, when met in Kendari on Monday, stated that four flood-affected areas have already received MBG distributions, namely Kendari City, South Konawe, Kolaka, and East Kolaka.

She said that BGN has distributed MBG to flood-affected residents in Kendari and South Konawe to 1,873 people. Meanwhile, Kolaka and East Kolaka received distributions earlier, totalling 2,745 portions.

“Total MBG distribution for flood-affected residents in Sultra amounts to 4,618 portions,” said Maharanny.

“In South Konawe, services were provided in Puosu Jaya Ward, Konda Subdistrict,” stated Maharanny.

Maharanny explained that three SPPG units distributed MBG to residents evacuated due to floods in Kolaka and East Kolaka.

She detailed that in Kolaka Regency, SPPG Latambaga Mangolo provided 936 portions, while SPPG Kolaka Samaturu Tamboli supplied 709 portions of MBG to residents in Latuo Village, Konaweha, and Ulu Konaweha. In East Kolaka Regency, SPPG Mowewe distributed 1,100 portions in Harodopi Ward.

“So, currently, 2,745 portions of MBG have been distributed to flood-affected residents in Kolaka and East Kolaka,” she clarified.

She explained that the MBG distribution to flood disaster victims complies with BGN Circular No. 7 of 2025 on Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Services in Emergency Situations Due to Natural Disasters.

“Yes, in the event of a disaster, SPPG can provide services to affected victims,” said Maharanny.

Maharanny added that volunteers from the three SPPG units delivered the meals directly to residents’ homes or evacuation posts, assisted by police and TNI personnel.

She emphasised that the distribution does not interfere with the MBG portions prepared by SPPG for students or other beneficiaries.
