BGN Deputy Chief on Fate of Electric Motorcycles: Funds Already Disbursed, Maximise Utilisation

Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Agustina Arumsari has addressed the fate of electric motorcycles budgeted under the leadership of former BGN Head Dadan Hindayana. Arumsari stated that products already funded by the state should be utilised to the fullest extent possible. “We will also request information from the Attorney General’s Office. The overall point is not just about motorcycles. Everything that has been spent in 2025, including IT, we ideally want to maximise. This is not only about motorcycles; there may be specific policies later,” Arumsari said at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (15/6/2026).

She emphasised that assets purchased with state funds must be maximised. According to her, budget allocations with similar outputs will no longer be found in the following year. “The point is not just that. Previously, there was mention of laptops, IoT (Internet of Things), CCTV, and so on that have already been paid for and should be maximised. That is also one way we are scrutinising the 2026 budget. We are reviewing budget items whose outputs are more or less the same as those in 2025, and we are saying no. Those will not exist in 2026,” she stated.

Arumsari described the utilisation of goods already purchased by BGN as part of the budget review effort. If there are still shortages, BGN will supplement them according to needs. “But the general principle is I am not speaking about individual items like socks, motorcycles, or whatever. The general principle is that what has already been disbursed in 2025, because state funds have already been spent, we must maximise its utilisation,” she said.

Previously, the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) announced it would examine all procurement conducted by BGN. Kejagung is cooperating with the Finance and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) in conducting this investigation. “Everything, all procurement is being scrutinised. And we are cooperating with BPKP. We will later assess the reasonableness of it all. We are opening everything,” said the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, at the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta on Monday (15/6/2026).

Febrie stated the investigation does not stop at the procurement of electric motorcycles. He said Kejagung wants to support the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme to run according to plan. “What is clear is that we want BGN to operate according to the initial plan. The initial plan is for the children, so that our children are well-nourished and healthy, so that when they are at school their stomachs are filled, enabling them to receive a good education,” Febrie said.
