The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has denied that MBG TV, which went viral on social media, is a programme created by the BGN.

Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency’s Communications and Investigation Division, has even directly confirmed this information with the head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana. The head of the agency is said to be unaware of the existence of the MBG TV programme, which was allegedly to be broadcast across 13 provinces.

“It is not owned by BGN; BGN is unaware of MBG TV. I have already confirmed this with the head of the agency, and he does not know either,” said Nanik, as quoted by Detik.

Because it does not originate from BGN, Nanik emphasised that all activities and content of MBG TV have no connection with the BGN. Nanik also stated that BGN is not responsible for the broadcast content in circulation.

“There is no connection whatsoever with BGN. BGN bears no responsibility for the content of MBG TV,” she said.

Furthermore, Nanik stated that those producing MBG TV must first seek permission from BGN if they wish to create a television programme related to the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (MBG).

Previously, a post on Instagram went viral claiming the existence of a broadcasting network called MBG TV. In the narrative circulating, MBG TV was claimed to work with 15 terrestrial television stations, reaching 13 provinces and 98 regencies/municipalities, and available through live streaming on the JupnasGizi.com website.

The post also stated that MBG TV was initiated by the Forum Jupnas Gizi Indonesia as a media platform to disseminate the Free Nutritious Meal Programme and had been introduced through a joint audience with the National Nutrition Agency in Jakarta. However, Nanik assured that BGN has no connection to or involvement in mandating the programme.
