BGN Denies 100 SPPG Sites in Cilacap Are Entirely Fictitious, Cites Moratorium
The Regional Coordinator of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for Central Java, Reza Mahendra, has addressed reports regarding the discovery of 100 allegedly fictitious nutritional fulfilment service unit (SPPG) sites in Cilacap Regency. He stated that the information claiming all 100 sites are fictitious is not entirely valid.
According to Reza, the 100 SPPG sites in Cilacap already possess SPPG IDs. “We have obtained information that these approximately 100 SPPGs already have IDs, meaning they were registered through the portal before it was closed,” he said via written message on Tuesday (23/6/2026).
He added that the 100 SPPGs were registered in the BGN portal prior to the decision to impose a moratorium on new SPPG additions. “This means the approximately 100 SPPGs are in the preparation process. Before the moratorium, the portal allowed them to proceed with construction because they were in the preparation stage,” he explained.
However, Reza acknowledged that some of the 100 SPPG sites in Cilacap have not progressed in building their kitchens. He was unable to explain why this occurred, stating, “You should ask the foundations why they haven’t built.”
When asked whether the 100 allegedly fictitious SPPGs in Cilacap would eventually operate, Reza said the BGN is currently enforcing a moratorium on new SPPG additions. “The leadership’s current policy is a moratorium on new SPPGs. So, for now, there will be no additions until the refocusing of beneficiaries is completed,” he said.
Regarding the news coverage, Reza stated he has asked the BGN Cilacap Regional Coordinator to coordinate with Acting Regent of Cilacap Ammy Amalia Fatma Surya, who had previously revealed the findings of the allegedly fictitious SPPG sites.
