Jakarta - Deputy Head of BGN for Operational Nutrition Fulfillment, Sony Sonjaya, stated that the procurement of electric motorcycles for the heads of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) complies with regulations.

“The procurement process for goods and services follows the mechanisms in accordance with the rules,” Sony emphasised after the event marking One Year of the Free Nutritious Meals Journey in Community Empowerment Efforts, at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture office, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (16/4/2026).

“If there are any deviations, that would certainly fall under the purview of law enforcement. However, we are confident that the procurement has gone through the proper goods and services procurement process,” he said.

He then emphasised that the electric motorcycles are needed for distributing MBG to schools in remote areas.

“For all regions, especially remote areas, including schools in Jakarta that are located in alleys,” he said.

“When quick coordination is needed, cars cannot enter (the alleys), motorcycles are faster and can reach them,” he added.

Previously reported, BGN Head Dadan Hindayana explained that the electric motorcycle procurement was for 2025, with budget realisation occurring in 2026.

Dadan added that until the end of the opportunity period on 20 March 2026, the supplier could only complete 85.01 percent, or 21,801 units out of the 25,644 contracted units.

Dadan also denied information claiming the number of electric motorcycles procured reached 70,000 units.

The electric motorcycles are domestically produced with a domestic component level (TKDN) of 48.5 percent, manufactured in Citeureup, Bogor, West Java.

Their function is to assist SPPG heads with daily mobility.

The price per motorcycle is Rp42 million per unit, compared to Rp52 million on the market.
