The Deputy for Monitoring and Oversight of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Ketut Sumedana, has said the BGN is collaborating with the Attorney General’s Office to strengthen supervision of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. Speaking at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes building in Jakarta on Wednesday, Ketut said findings in the alleged MBG governance corruption case being handled by Adhyaksa Corps investigators would serve as recommendations for his party to reinforce oversight of the programme. “We will use the materials from here for improvements. Whatever is found by the investigators, we will use for improvements so the BGN can be better going forward,” he said. Ketut Sumedana was introduced on Tuesday as the BGN’s Deputy for Monitoring and Oversight. He is one of five new echelon I officials appointed to replace previous officials in order to successfully improve the governance of the MBG programme. He has more than 28 years of experience at the Attorney General’s Office and holds a doctorate in law, equipping him to oversee various issues in the field, including suspected poisoning or other irregularities. The Attorney General’s Office has named seven suspects in the MBG governance corruption case, namely former BGN Head Dadan Hindayana; former BGN Deputy Head for Organisational Development and Institutional Relations Lodewyk Pusung; former BGN Deputy Head for Nutritional Fulfilment Operations Sony Sonjaya; private sector party Asep Yusuf Soemantri; PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal Commissioner Andri Mulyono; private sector party Glory Harimas Sihombing; and BGN Secretary of the Deputy for Promotion and Cooperation, LMI.
