BGN Clarifies Rp 270 Trillion Budget Ceiling for 2027 Is Not Final
The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has clarified that the Rp 270 trillion budget ceiling for their institution in 2027 is not a final figure. Spokesperson and Deputy Head of BGN Agustina Arumsari stated that the amount is merely an initial estimate or indicative ceiling. “That was the budget prepared under Pak Dadan’s leadership,” Arum said when confirmed on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, referring to former BGN Head Dadan Hindayana, who has been named a corruption suspect by the Attorney General’s Office. Under Dadan’s leadership, the assumption for beneficiaries in 2027 was 81,534,454 people. Arum explained that under the new BGN leadership, there will be a restructuring of beneficiaries. “The number will be far less,” she said. Arum added that BGN is currently coordinating with the Ministry of Finance and the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) to revise the 2027 budget. “So (the Rp 270 trillion figure) is not final,” she said. She confirmed that the budget for the free nutritious meal programme will not increase next year, but she could not yet confirm the exact amount of the reduction. “We are still in the process of restructuring. It will still be discussed with Bappenas and the Ministry of Finance. Please wait for the final figure,” Arum said. According to budget documents, the government had allocated Rp 270,201,499,678,000 for 81,534,454 beneficiaries. The funds were divided into Rp 262,782,743,434,000 (97.25 percent) for national nutrition fulfilment and Rp 7,418,756,244,000 (2.75 percent) for management support. The nutrition fulfilment budget was further split into Rp 262,503,133,201,000 (99.89 percent) specifically for the free nutritious meal programme and Rp 279,610,233,000 (0.11 percent) for non-technical nutrition activities. The management support budget was allocated for salaries and allowances (Rp 7,193,794,571,000), office operations and maintenance (Rp 68,779,192,000), and non-operational management support (Rp 156,182,481,000).
