BGN Claims MBG Motorcycles Purchased Below Market Price
The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, stated that electric motorcycles for the free nutritious meal programme (MBG) were purchased by his agency at Rp 42 million per unit. Dadan claimed that the price of the electric motorcycles, which will be given to Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) or MBG kitchens, is below the market price.
“The market price is Rp 52 million, but we bought them—if I’m not mistaken—for Rp 42 million, below the market price,” said Dadan while at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, 8 April 2026.
He said that BGN had budgeted for the purchase of these electric motorcycles since 2025. Initially, BGN intended to buy 24,400 units but only realised 21,800 units.
Dadan said that the procurement of electric motorcycles was only budgeted for 2025. BGN did not budget for the same item in 2026.
This lecturer from Bogor Agricultural Institute conveyed that the electric motorcycles will be used for SPPG in areas with difficult access. “We will distribute them later for the operations of all personnel in SPPG, especially in remote areas,” said Dadan.
Previously, a video circulated on social media showing tens of thousands of motorcycles with the BGN logo. In the amateur video circulating on social media, the inside and outside of a building in a certain area were seen lined with motorcycles. The two-wheeled vehicles appeared still wrapped in plastic with the BGN logo on the side of the motorcycles.
“This is what I’m spilling: all these motorcycles total 70,000 just for the West Java province area. Now, are they for all employees or just the SPPG kitchen heads? I’m not sure,” said the man recording the video, as uploaded on the Instagram account @bantenraya on Monday, 6 April 2026.
The video recorder said that the BGN-logoed motorcycles are electric vehicles. He said the BGN motorcycle warehouse is located in West Java but did not specify the location.
BGN has denied information claiming that the agency purchased 70,000 units of motorcycles for MBG operations. This nutrition agency claims that the motorcycle procurement only reached 21,000 units.
