BGN: Circulating funds from MBG in NTB reach Rp824 billion per month
The presence of SPPG in the regions is boosting local productivity. This is because the contribution from the MBG programme is substantial in driving regional economic growth.
North Lombok, NTB (ANTARA) - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, stated that the amount of circulating funds for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme in West Nusa Tenggara reaches Rp824 billion per month.
“Alhamdulillah, up to now in NTB there are already 824 SPPG units established. Each SPPG manages Rp1 billion. This means the circulating money in NTB is Rp824 billion per month,” he said during the launch of the modular SPPG built by PT Krakatau Steel in Genggelang Village, Gangga Subdistrict, North Lombok Regency, on Tuesday.
He explained that from the total Rp1 billion budget managed by one SPPG, 70% is used to purchase raw materials, most of which are agricultural products in NTB, such as eggs, rice, vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, and others, thereby providing opportunities for farmers, breeders, and fishermen to supply the raw material needs of the SPPG for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme.
“So, the presence of SPPG acts as an ‘offtaker’ or the forefront party in absorbing local products. This includes employing local communities, from housewives to young men and women, and this is funded by 20% of the incoming funds to the SPPG, so those who work will have incomes between Rp2.4 million and Rp3.5 million. We just need to see how the operationalisation works, because 10% is for the SPPG kitchen,” said Dadan Hindayana.
“The funds used for MBG have already circulated Rp77 trillion from Sabang to Merauke, including in North Lombok, NTB,” he added.
He mentioned that the current number of SPPG units built across Indonesia reaches 28,390, serving 62.1 million beneficiaries out of a target of around 79-80 million, with 3 million of them in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas.
“Alhamdulillah, even though this programme has only been in place for 1 year and 4 months, it has already served 62.1 million beneficiaries across Indonesia. This is the fastest programme implemented worldwide. Because even Brazil took 11 years for 40 million,” explained the BGN Head.
“We hope the government also supports improving SPPG services and the community participates in the success of the programme,” he said.
Present at the launch of the modular steel SPPG in Genggelang Village were the Regent of North Lombok, Najmul Akhyar, the Head of the MBG Task Force of the NTB Provincial Government, Fathul Gani, and the Forkopimda of the NTB Provincial Government and North Lombok Regency, as well as the community and student beneficiaries of MBG in North Lombok.
